Normal mics are usually in the form of boom mics before the manufacturers add the ball shaped piece on the top. These types of mics are cheap but helpful. If you are going to make a boom pole and buy a boom mic, just buy a mic like mine so you don't waste hundreds of dollars. I am deciding to make my own boom mic & boom pole.
